Thank you for your comments. I am with you 100% on that issue. No war is popular at the time it is going on but most is for a good cause and those serving, getting injured or killed deserve to be recognized, as will as those who are not actively serving in the fighting. Those who are serving in a "safe" location are doing as honerable a job as those on the front line because they are serving their country and may be placed in an "unsafe" location at any time. Melissa, You are correct..... everyone should honor our service men and women, even if it is not a World War. My grandson just returned from Iraq after a year with a slight leg wound and a twisted knee. Before that he was in Bosnia a year, and he is only 25 years old. His father served, his grandfather served, and his great grandfather served. jerree

Hello All!! I just have to pause from my posting to make an observation. Right now I am posting obituaries and newspaper articles from an issue in 1944 which was during World War II. I am amazed at how many newspaper articles there are dedicated to the servicemen and their awards and letters home from prisoner of war camps (that one is coming next). I compare it to today, I have not seen one newspaper article in the 3 different newspapers I read everyday, including a newspaper that covers Fort Campbell, Kentucky, that has articles about our servicemen getting their decorations and awards. Why is that? Is it because this war is considered not popular? I am sure World War II wasn't very popular to the parents, spouses, children, etc. of the men and women that were in that war back then. I guess I am just amazed at the difference, and the fact that there should be no difference. Everyone person in our military today deserves recognition for what he or she is doing. Okay, I will get off my soap box now and get back to posting. Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes, this was probably not the place for it, forgive me. In Christ, Melissa Barker
