Is anyone familiar with a Smith Cemetery or a Henry Smith Cemetery in or around Indian Mound? This would probably at or near a Smith Homeplace. Henry Smith was probably buried there in 1909 and Spencer Smith was buried there in 1914. _\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_\|/_ | Roger L. Napolean Joice, Jr. (1839-?). >> Was her grandfather Christopher Brandon who had 4 wives and 23 children? I think Nathan Skinner had 500 acres on the Cumberland and after he died it was sold to a George & Lucinda Gatlin and then it went to a George Ann Brandon, widow. There is supposed to be a Brandon Camp Ground Between the Lakes where the house that Nathan Skinner built up on a hill over the Cumberlan River......Is there??? The house was two story log.... Sorry I got hooked.... this is not my family but they sure are interesting......... jerree
Rita, You are SOOOOO right! I'll go back to my family tree maker and check on those dates! I must have been having a senior/blonde moment. I didn't even notice it while I was typing it onto the web.tv. Thanks, Blair Joyce
Chuck, I am not really researching the Skinners since they aren't on my husband's family tree (not yet, anyway) it was just some info I found while researching the Brandon's. I did check out <www.google.com> "north carolina" + "nathan skinner". What I found is not documented. Blair Joyce
Jerree, Thanks for the correction! Blair Joyce

Sorry, I was out-of-town over the weekend. About Napolean Joice: I found him on the 1850 US Census TN, Humphreys Co., p.307, census date Nov. 15, 1850 the following: Joice, N.B. 56 b. NC Napolean, Jr. 20 TN Alexander 15 TN Fathy 16 TN Henson 16 TN Elizabeth 11 TN Joice, John 26 TN Sara 17 TN I also found N.B. Joice on the 1830 Census, TN, Rutherford Co., p. 63 Also Marcia Finnegan (a descendant of Alexander) found N.B. Joice on the 1840 Census in TN. I misplaced the information so I don't know the county but they moved around alot. I am still working on tracing N.B. Joice in NC and what happened to Napolean, Jr. after his marriage to Emily Frances Carney AND what happened to Henson. Blair Joyce
