    3. Yes, I would love to be put in contact with a Guerin Researcher. I was in contact with Wayne Guerin who sent me all the research he had and also Wayne's sister. And, yes, I checked all Christopher Brandon's wives and their children. Marcella was born Jan. 28, 1828 which was during the time Christopher was married to Polly Skinner but she had a daughter, Americus, b. Feb. ?, 1828. I was working with info that I found at GenCircles (have not have the chance to verify this info) and found Christopher's father, George Brandon, Sr. and his three wives and children. I am still working on trying to find if Marcella could hve been the daughter of one of Christopher Brandon's brothers and I have William listed along with Charles, James W. Samuel, George, Jr. & Benjamin all children of George's marriage to Sarah McNatt abt. 1870. I am not sure if that is correct since Christopher was b. 1791 and George m. Mary Skinner in abt. 1790. Like I said, I have more research to do in the Brandons! Unfortunately, I get easily side-tracted and when I hit a brick wall try another branch where I might find info. I have only been researching for three years and it is all a little overwhelming! But I did learn, finally, to verify and check sources which I have done in my later research but not my early research. Thanks! Blair Joyce

    3. I got hooked, too, reading about the Brandons and Skinners. Same thing happened to me when I was doing research in New England. I now know the difference between the Pilgrims & Puritans, who the Palatines were and all about the Hugenauts (spelling?). I am still trying to hook up the Fords and Guerins of Stewart Co. with the Fords and Guerins that came from NC and before that from NJ. I hope someday to visit Stewart Co. because I have read so much about it! Blair Joyce

    3. Jerree, Yes, Emily Frances Carney's parents were Elijah DeMoss Carney & Marcella Brandon. I was told that Marcella's father was Christopher Brandon and I also found Americus born a month after Marcella and said that Christopher couldn't be her father. I was told that the concensus is that Christopher was her father and that she was illegitimate. He must have given her his name. I am still checking it out and hoping that I or someone will find something to verify this. Blair Joyce

There is supposed to be a Brandon Camp Ground Between the Lakes where the house that Nathan Skinner built up on a hill over the Cumberlan River......Is there??? The house was two story log.... 3. jerree; The Brandon family are "tag ons" to my family at this point but lived near or at times next to them on the early censuses. The more that is asked the more some of my lines seem to just about link up but not yet. Marcella Brandon was the wife of Elijah Demoss Carney and mother of Emily Francis but I am not sure of her parents. There is an online tree that indicates Christopher and Polly Skinner Brandon had a daughter in 1828 but it says her name was America Jane and gives her dob as 2-19-1828. Marcella's is listed as 1-23-1828. I had the pleasure of visiting Stewart County last year and got lost trying to find Mt Zion Cemetery [that is where our g grandparents are buried]--but with my sister's help we did find it in the Brandon Camp Ground Area. The cemetery is within sight of the swimming area as I recall. I didn't see the house. Since we spent so much time being lost that and the Dover House in town were the only things on my list of places to visit that I actually got to see but I hope to visit the area again one day. In trying to fit the pieces of all this together I think I found another "tag on" with Abigail Skinner [abt 1825-aft 1880] who married Dudley Parker [abt 1812-1880] on August 13, 1846. Stewart County Settlements and Bonds, Volume F (March 1843 - June 1848) 356 will of Jonathan Skinner: wife Frances, infant daughter Hadassa (also called Esther), infant son Jonathan K., daughter Abigail, daughter Louisa?, daughter Sarah Jane; executors are James W. Williams and Aaron Goodrich; wit: P. Lynch, F. L. Sidebottom, Robert S. Thomas; written 24 Jun 1844, proven Aug. term 1846. Yes Skinner and Brandon families are really very interesting to study.
