Miss Doxie, alas. Whose husband was "General Howell" (a courtesy title because he was for a long time the D.A. for Stewart and other counties). No relation to me, but pillars of Dover life in the 40's and 50's when I was growing up about a hundred yards down the hill from their house, whose yard I used to mow for about a dollar before the lard truck turned over in it. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Melissa Barker Sent: Tuesday, January 29, 2008 3:55 PM To: Stewart County Mailing List Subject: [TNSTEWAR] Doxie (Thomas) Howell Obituary 1884-1971 Source: "The Stewart-Houston Times" Newspaper, a weekly newspaper of Stewart County and Houston County in Tennessee Date of Newspaper: Wednesday, October 6, 1971 Page: A-2 Name: Doxie(Thomas)Howell Age: 87 Born: August 27, 1884, place not listed Died: October 1, 1971 in Dover, Stewart County, TN. Harry, please excuse my delay in responding to your inquiry of Oct. 14.? I have a granddaughter that was born Sept. 6 in Dallas, TX and I have been running back and forth to see her.? I do?apologize for being so slow. My info on Talitha Elizabeth Stavely is very stetchy.? Vanetta Stavely of Dover wrote to me in 2000 regarding Talitha.? She could have been the oldest daughter of Eli Stavely and Betsy Collier. Or, she could have been Eli's sister.? Her age would indicate that she was a daughter of Eli.? There is a lot of information about Eli and Betsy in the library in Dover.? I wish I could offer more info.? What about Wyatt Tuggle?? Do you have his parents?? I am almost certain that he was NOT the son of Harris Tuggle and Margaret Bradshaw. Anne ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever. Hi, About three years ago I lent some Stewart County microfilm and a microfilm reader to a woman that wanted to do some typing for me. I had her phone number and name in my cell phone, but the phone was lost. I haven't heard from her in all this time, so I thought maybe someone here would know her. She lived around Fort Campbell, her husband was in the army and was gone when I talked to her. She had an older child and a baby, so was wanting to stay at home and work on genealogy. I believe that she said that she had done some other books on Stewart. I know this is not much to go on, but I really need to get in touch with her. Thanks, Laura Willis --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your homepage.
