    3. Melba, Thank you so much for the information. Unfortunately, I think none of these are mine. Here is what I have on my Williams. I took another look at census, and I was wrong on some of the birthplaces of the earlier children. Below is what I have on them.: A. W. (Anderson) Williams born ca 1811 in Virginia married Sarah A. (?) b. ca 1821 in Tennessee Children: Thomas Arthur Williams - b. ca 1840 in Mississippi (married Victoria Terry) Samuel E. Williams - b. ca 1842 in Mississippi (died during Civil War) Thaddeus E. Williams - b. ca 1845 in Tennessee (died during Civil War) Robert Charles Williams - b. ca 1846 in Tennessee (married Angeline White in Tenn.) Sarah Jane Williams - b. ca 1848 in Illinois (married Napoleon Bonaparte Johnson in Hartsville) James Williams - b. ca 1849 in Illinois (married in Texas) Matilda Williams - b. ca 1852 in Illinois (married in Texas) Mary Williams - b. ca 1855 in Illinois John Williams - b. ca 1863 in Tennessee Some researcher gave the maiden name of Sarah A. (wife of A.W.) as Adams. I don't know if this is correct, but there is a Nathaniel Adams and his wife, Nancy, living next door to this family in 1860 in Smith County, TN. I believe that most of the family removed from Smith County in the mid 1870's. I would love to find a probate record or cemetery record in Smith County that would date the death of A.W. Thanks again for your kind assistance. The James Claridy Williams & Millicent had a son by the name of Harvey ANDERSON williams 1857 - 1924. Harvey married Emma Vessie Green 1876-1932. If you give some of the children's names and better info on what you have of your A.W., etc. it might help us to help you. Hope this helps. A. W. (Anderson) Williams b. ca 1811 in Virginia was married to Sarah A. (?) ca 1836. Their oldest son, Thomas Arthur Williams was born in Mississippi (where they were on the 1840 census). By 1850, they were in Franklin Co., IL, and they must have been there since almost 1840 because the other children born by that time were all born in IL By 1860, they were in Dixon Springs, Smith County, TN where A.W. owned a mill. During the Civil War, the 2nd and 3rd oldest sons were killed or died by other means. In 1870 the family is still in Dixon Springs. In 1880 the family had relocated to Weatherford, Parker County, TX. Sarah (A W.'s wife) was there with the children, but A.W. is not. She is buried in Weatherford, but he is not. I assume that he died in Tennessee, but I can't prove it. Here is the thing. There were two A.W. Williams about the same age living in Smith County at the same time. There were two Anderson Williams at the same time, but I don't know that they were both A.W.'s. The othere A.W. Williams I believe was from North Carolina, whereas mine was from Virginia. Any help with this man and his family will be greatly appreciated.
