Hi All, I found my contact that I exchanged info with on Thomas Boston. I'm forwarding this information for those that are interested. Mary Knight Sent: Sunday, July 17, 2005 9:11 AM Subject: George BOSTON, Jr. Here is what I have on George BOSTON, Jr. He was in the 1860 census of Hardin Co. IL as age 36, farmer, born TN, no real estate, $25 personal property, day laborer, with wife Mary E., age 23, born TN and a Mary J. HALE, 16, born IL. Living near him was the family of Booker JENKINS. No other BOSTONs in Hardin Co. IL that year. He joined Co. F, 131st Regiment Illinois Infantry on 13 August 1862 (same day and regiment as Thomas BOSTON). He was taken sick and sent to the hospital at Benton Barracks, MO where he died on 28 April 1863. He was married in Smith Co, TN at home of George BOSTON by Dow BELEW in the year 1858 - marriage records destroyed in the war. His wife was Mary E. SNEED. After George, Jr.'s death, she married Jackson R. SHIPP who was appointed the guardian of George and Mary's son William D. BOSTON. Another statement in the pension record states that George BOSTON was a lieutenant in Co. F, 131st Illinois REgiment, that he was taken sick at Milliken Bend, LA sometime in May 1863 and sent to Benton Barracks, St. Louis, MO where he died on or about 15th day of July 1863. His disease was chronic diarrhea. Son William D. BOSTON was born 5 June 1862. I will keep looking but I believe that that William D. BOSTON lives to be married and dies young as well. I also show that Matilda PARKHURST BOSTON died in 1899. Do you have this information?
