Hi, Someone on the list has already contacted me to do the lookups. ------------- I have an ancestor that moved from Virginia in the early 1830s to Smith County. I'm not sure why. It would seem strange (at first sight) considering Tennessee was more associated with North Carolina; and English Virginians seemed to migrate to Kentucky. However, I guess Tennessee was already well established as its own state by the 1830s. So I should consider it just a normal land purchase. Just thoughts....
