I have been following all the requests and answers on this site. A really great and active site. I would hope I can get as much help on my line as so many of you have received. I would like any information on John Bockman, b. 1810, Christopher Bockman, b. 1812 and Michael Bockman, b. 1815. All have various spellings as indicated in the subject, plus others. I think they may have been brothers, tho I have no proof. The three of them and a Henry Boughman , which may have been their father were all shown in the Smith Co 1837 Tax List. I cannot find them anywhere else in Smith Co records except Christopher was in Smith Co in 1850. He left there for Missouri. Michael went to Dade Co, Ga and then appears in 1850 Texas census. John in Franklin Co Alabama 1850 census and them he moved back to Jackson Co Tn. He is buried in Bockman Cemetery in Putnam Co Tn. John Bockman was married to Mariah Cowan whose mother was a Trousdale. I realize it is not a close connection but am hoping to "go in the back door" so to speak as I have tried so many other things. I found Christopher Bockman or Balkman in the 1850 Smith County, Tenn. Census p331. He is living with Nancy and his children. He lists his being born in Virginia. Hope this helps.
