I have two dates for marriage - 21 Oct 1786 and 1796. (He died after May 1813). Since their son Leonard (Len) Jones was born 28 Oct 1804 in Smith Co. I believe the 1786 date would be more correct. But if Leonard md Nancy in 1786 he still would have been only 18, which generally the men did not marry that young. Can someone verify this as both dates seem questionable? The death certificate of Elizabeth (Betsy) Green Jones is the first vital record proving her mother's maiden name was Hendrix. In Cal's col. he had written Hendricks or Hendrix. Still searching for her given name, parentage, anything on this Hendrix line. 1850 Jackson Co. Census #4 Leonard Jones 46 Elizabeth 40 William 20 Harvey 17 Beverly 10 Rufus 6 Mary J. 2 (Caution-there is a different Leonard Jones 37 and his wife also an Elizabeth 27 on the 1860 Smith.
