Smith Co folks-- Re: this OTHER JENKINS/JINKINS group--HELP! CC: <adams1111@bellsouth.net> Subject: JENKINS/JINKINS Ms. McDonald, I have been referred to you. I am in search of the parents of my grgrgrandmother, Joanah/Joana JENKINS (dob 30 Oct 1804 or 1809(tombstone inscription is illegible and handcarved. could be either, but census age notations agree more with the 1804.)---dod 31 July 1883.-in Dekalb(formerly Smith)County, TN---Lived and is buried in family cemetery (GRIFFITH Farm) between Liberty and Alexandria, TN.That is near the Wilson Co TN border. I can find no connection to the other JENKINS line in the Smith Co area(early 1800 time-frame)However, I do find a reference to the JINKINS line, Wilson Co TN. Joana JINKINS married Moses GRIFFITH, who was named the executor in the will of Wiatt JINKINS along with Wiatt JINKINS son, Joseph JINKINS. I also have a note that William JENKINS (dob 1782) and wife, Sarah (dob 1782) were in TN as early as 1810 and had several children; including: Joanah, William B. and Joseph. This is a very confusing JENKINS/JINKINS gathering of ancestors. I for sure see the "E" and "I" transcription of the JENKINS/JINKINS name often. Please can you help me. I do know from other documents --Wilson JINKINS will (1829) Wilson Co TN that Wilson JINKINS had a son, Wiatt/WYATT JINKINS and that their lines is intermarried and connected with the BRADFORD and MOORE line. Expectantly awaiting your reply.Thank you. Judy ADAMS---------adams1111@bellsouth.net
