I'm going to have to see if I can find the image on that because I have his age as 86 in 1880 and the LDS transcription also has his age as 86 in 1880. > > Yes, I know the census says Jacob was his son but I believe other documents indicate otherwise. 3. Adopted son of George W & Matilda Parkhurst Boston he was a product of an encounter of passion between Matilda, 4th child of George & Matilda (1) and Issac (Bud) Jenkins who 2 years later did marry but chose not to reclaim Jake.George and Matilda (1) adopted him and raised him.He m the widow of his adopted brother, Christian (3)Boston Thank you for confirming that. Thats what I had heard also. I did think it was strange that Matilda and Bud Jenkins didn't reclaim him after they married. But the fact that George and Matilda adopted him would explain why he remained a Boston rather than a Jenkins. I also suspected Matilda as Jacob's mother because in 1910 Macon Co. census says she gave birth to 9 children with 9 living in 1910 and I only have 8 children listed for Bud Jenkins and Matilda Boston. So one mystery is solved. Now do you know who Thomas Boston b. ca 1840's mother was? A descendant of Thomas told me he suspected Ruth Boston as his mother because Thomas named a daughter Ruth but he had no proof of that. He said he knew Thomas was not George's son because Thomas's pension file has an affidavit from David C. Boston saying he is Thomas Uncle. I haven't seen the file was just told that by a descendant of Thomas Boston's. Mary K.
