I am on several message boards and some none genealogy boards. Messages tend to change subject, just like they do in a regular conversation. I've seen one message change into a discussion on outhouses, and a very interesting one to boot, that brought back a lot of memories for people. It also gave us a better idea of what life was like for our ancestors. Personally, chatter on a board doesn't bother me, and if it is something that I am not interested in, I have an ignore button.
