    3. I have asked this question before, but I am hoping that some new researchers might have a clue as to the following: The following settlement of land of Joseph Taylor was recorded 20 Mar 1838. Samuel Jackson Benjamin Taylor, Joshua Taylor, David Taylor, Henry Taylor, Louis Taylor, Lucretia Taylor, John and Nancy Taylor, Samuel Jackson, and Martha Plunket, all legatees of Joseph Taylor, to Isaac Taylor, also one of the legatees 140.5 acres in the 16th district. 20 Mar 1838 (Pages 562-563) Deed Book D DeKalb Co. TN Additional land transactions involving Samuel Jackson in the same time period are as follows: John Farmer of Tipton Co. TN deeded to Samuel Jackson 100 acres on Smith's Fork. 3 Oct. 1838. Witness: John F. Freeman. Deed book A. DeKalb Co. TN "Land Deed Genealogy of DeKalb Co., TN 1838-1869 Samuel Jackson deeded to Pharis Lawrence 50 acres on Smiths Fork. Oct. 16, 1838. Deed Book A. DeKalb Co. TN Samuel Jackson signed with his mark. Samuel Jakcson (born 1799 SC, died ? before 1870 - probably TN) and his son Andrew Thomas Jackson (born 9 June 1825 in Georgia) moved to TN around 1838 based on land records. His first wife, name unknown, was born in TN. She evidently died prior to the family moving to TN. I have wondered if the first wife was a Taylor and Samuel as a legatee because of minor son. Samuel Jackson married a second time to Sarah (Unknown) married first to Basil Garrison who died 1839. Any clues would be appreciated. Charlotte Jackson Miller
