FYI James Riley Kemp did lose his first wife on 17 June 1879. He married #3 about 3 weeks later on 3 July 1879 to Ella. It was not uncommon in "those days" to remarry quickly as the men needed help in caring for their children so they could work in the fields to feed them. I do not know if J.R. and Ella had more than the one child, Rufus Jefferson Kemp b 6 Mar 1881 nor have I done a lot of search yet for that information (could be on the web for all I know... getting swamped doing imput on data).
