He is buried at the "Cool Cemetery" in Lee Co., NC. He and his wife, Betsy Dunlap were married 1840 in Dekalb Co., TN. She was b. c1821, NC and d. aft 1880, buried same Cemetery. Winship Blackstone Petty was not born until 1834 and he married Charlotte Greer. He was a brother to William Petty b. 1814 who married Elizabeth Dunlap. According to this book William Petty b. 1814 died in a hospital in Nashville about 1870. Elizabeth then came to Smith Co. and on Sept 10, 1887 in Smith Co. married William's brother Henderson B.
