    3. I want to add to whats written below Vadda spent months helping get data online for the website but she took no credit and when you look around the website remember Vada might have done that! Vada if you are still on the list .... Good Luck and if you ever get bored Just yell i got lots of things to do<g>! Charlie =============== An era unlikely to ever be repeated ended today, September 30, 2005, with the retirement of Bell County Clerk Vada Sutton. For over 52 years, Ms. Sutton reported to work at Bell County. For the past 18 years she has been County Clerk. But her history began in February of 1953, when as an 18 year old graduate of Salado High School, she started as secretary in the District Attorney's office. In 1960, she moved on to the County Judge's office where she stayed for four years before coming the Court Reporter for the District Court (there was only one then) for two years. In 1966, she began a 21-year tenure as Administrative Assistant to the Bell County Judge. Then on January 1, 1987, she took office as County Clerk, where she served until her retirement today. "Vada Sutton is a legend in Bell County and throughout Texas, and deservedly so," said Bell County Judge Jon Burrows. "She had dedicated her life as a public servant to the citizens of Bell County and has set the standard on what public services means. I am joined by the 900 current Bell County Employees and Elected Officials and hundreds of former employees and officials in thanking Vada for her service, her guidance, her wisdom, and her inspiration to us all. From elections, to redistricting, to records management, to historical preservation, the list goes on and on, she has been the stalwart beacon for 52 years keeping Bell County going in the right direction. We wish her the best in her well-deserved retirement." JON H. BURROWS, Bell County Judge

    3. I will always remember the help she gave me....and she never expected anything in return. I am sure it will be hard for them to replace her in the clerk's office. She had so much knowledge of the county. Vada, if you happen to read this THANK YOU!!!! for everything you have done. If you happen to get bored I have a lot of genealogy things that need done LOL :)) We love you Vada Helen glswings@pacifier.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Charles Gregory" <gregoryc@charter.net> To: <TNSMITH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 27, 2005 2:23 PM Subject: [TNSMITH] Vada Sutton Retires >I want to add to whats written below Vadda spent months helping > get data online for the website but she took no credit and when > you look around the website remember Vada might have done that! > > Vada if you are still on the list .... > > Good Luck and if you ever get bored > > Just yell i got lots of things to do<g>! > > Charlie > > > > > =============== > > > An era unlikely to ever be repeated ended today, September 30, 2005, with > the retirement of Bell County Clerk Vada Sutton.
