I haven't seen the Smith Co DVD set but I have purchased the DVD set for Walton Co, GA and they are wonderful. I think the biggest difference between CD's and DVD's is the amount of storage space. The DVD will hold more information, they are by far the best deal for the money. If your computer has a CD and a DVD drive, both will work on your computer. Will both types work on a computer that has dvd capability? Is there a benefit to the cd's that I haven't thought of?
