    1. Found divorce decree for Turner Harris

    3. Actually it might very well be as this gives some confirming material. I found a divorce decree for Sallie Harris against Turner Harris in Smith County, TN citing that he had abandoned her and was living with a woman named Minerva ... all facts confirming the identity of the Turner Harris in Stewart County, TN in 1860 and 1870. Fairly bizarre if they WERE two totally different individuals because so much of their information duplicates each other. Sorry, this is probably not your Turner Harris. 3. And to pile more evidence on top of this in the 1860 census for Stewart County, TN a young man with the last name of BAUGH is living with Turner and Minerva, along with a 14 year old John Thacker (brother of my ggg grandmother). Minerva is using the last name Harris by this time so I suspect that Turner had been gone for longer than the two years mentioned in the 1866 divorce proceedings brought by Sallie Harris in Smith County, TN. And as they say .... away we go ... <grin> Time for mucho more research.
