TO PERSONS OF INTEREST In 1976 while in the Arizona State Library and Archives I found a very large pedigree chart on the Green families of Culpepper, Va. Unable to check this out I paid them to copy it for me. When computers came into being my husband did a surname (name sorted list of 50 pgs) list of this chart as well as a descendancy chart. These begin with William Green and Eleanor Duff abt 1675. Some of these lines are known to have come into Tennessee. I am also in possession of a handwritten letter of 8 Sept 1952 to my father, Marvin Green(e) from F. G. Percival of Knoxville who states his ggggrfather is Lewis Green 1751 of Russell County, Va.. He writes some family came into what is now Harlan Co., Ky and some into Nashville, Tn. "Zarhariah, with the Paynes moved to the Cumberland settlement (now Nashville)...In route Lewis Sr died...Later Lewis' widow (Sara) md Mathew Payne - the father of their daughter Sara's husband, Josiah Payne." This letter is 3 1/2 pages long 8 x 10. His family and those on the pedigree chart connect. I am putting this information on the site in case anyone is interested and has connections.
