On the other hand, Goodspeeds bios were printed in the late 1800s, well over 70 years ago. It was and is great. I always wondered how broad a net he cast......how many bios he wrote, and where did he write them. He captured my great grandfather Kelly in Arkansas and my ggfather(s) Williamson and Beebe in Iowa. It would be nice if this individual shared his/her treasure trove. It would also be nice if someone compiled all of Goodspeeds works on one searchable database. I can dream can't I?<G> Don Kelly ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gary Fantasyland" <fantasyland@earthlink.net> To: <TNSMITH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, September 25, 2005 8:20 AM Subject: Re: [TNSMITH] History of Smith county > Yes, Don.....I think you are right.....they are in Public Domain.......I > wish someone had the whole book to share...I'm sure many of us would love > to > have it for research..... > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Don Kelly" <ocollaugh@comcast.net> > To: <TNSMITH-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Sunday, September 25, 2005 7:56 AM > Subject: Re: [TNSMITH] History of Smith county > > >> On the other hand, Goodspeeds bios were printed in the late 1800s, well > over >> 70 years ago. >> DonK >> ----- Original Message ----- >> From: "Patti McNeal" <cyclewidowpatti@yahoo.com> >> To: <TNSMITH-L@rootsweb.com> >> Sent: Sunday, September 25, 2005 7:33 AM >> Subject: Re: [TNSMITH] History of Smith county >> >> >> > It sure sounds like copyright infringement to me. >> > >> > Patti McNeal >> > >> > Linda Lewis <llewis001@centurytel.net> wrote: >> > On ebay, there is a history of Smith county. Thru inter-library loan I have gotten Goodspeeds for areas such as Northwest Arkansas, etc.....on loan for I think it was 3 weeks. That alone was a normal size book, I think they are usually seperated by counties, rather than an entire state. Some are done for an area, such as Northwestern Arkansas, or you can even find the individual county ones. I am not sure they are for every state, I just know about Arkansas and Tennessee. Seems I have seen individual county Goodspeed's for Tennessee for sale thru Sistler. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Kelly" <ocollaugh@comcast.net> To: <TNSMITH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, September 25, 2005 12:26 PM Subject: Re: [TNSMITH] History of Smith county > It was and is great. > > I always wondered how broad a net he cast......how many bios he wrote, and > where did he write them. > > He captured my great grandfather Kelly in Arkansas and my ggfather(s) > Williamson and Beebe in Iowa. > > It would be nice if this individual shared his/her treasure trove.
