    3. Hi Marilyn: I have Smith Co, TN Payne connections: They are: Thomas H. Payne b about 1787 in Rowan Co, NC. Thomas married a Nancy? They had 4 children Goodman (My line), b 1808, William b about 1814, Cynthia b about 1810, and Jiney b about 1812. They all were born in Smith Co, TN. Thomas died in 1817/1818 in Smith Co, TN. His wife Nancy remarried a Sterling Hylton. I can find no place. Would like to know the maiden name of Nancy. Would like to know more about the other 3 children, William, Cynthia and Jiney, as well as Nancy and Sterling Hylton I have this Payne line proven to about 1650. 3. From: bobmoore I have Smith Co, TN Payne connections: I'm not a PAYNE researcher but I did run across an amusing name in the 1830 census for Smith Co. TN. There's a fellow listed there by the name of PLEASANT PAYNE. Bobby L. West
