I am trying to find out any available information on Anderson Douglass who is on the 1820 census for Smith CO TN. I believe his birth to have been from 1794-1800. His wife, Elizabeth's(no maiden name known) birth would have been in the same range from 1794-1800. Additionally, he had two sons at the time he lived there, their names being William and Jackson. William would have been born abt 1816. Jackson would have been born abt 1818. It could be possible that some record of their births may exist. Also, Anderson's marriage could have taken place in Smith county and a record be there for that also, but I am unsure of any date of the marriage. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks, -CJD __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
Cory, Did your Elizabeth Douglas come from VA? I find an Elizabeth Douglas age 50 in the 1850 Smith Co, TN census(house 132.) Living with her is Richard Douglas age 18(b abt 1832 in TN) a carpenter and Martha Douglas age 16(b. abt 1834 in TN). In a Smith Co deed book there is a land sale between William Douglas to Joshua Wilson 150 acres 15 Nov 1852 Deed book U page 607-608. The 31 May 1851 John H. Burford sold to William Douglas 100 acres Deed book U page 163-164. On the 1830 Smith Co census there was George, David, Joseph and Susan Douglas. 1840 George and a M. Douglas. In the 1820 Smith Co census are the names Anderson, David, Edward. Elizabeth, George, Larkin and Hannah wife of John Douglas(from Will Book 1805-1809. If any of these names are your let me know and I will look for more information. My ancestors are from Smith Co also. ----- Original Message ----- From: "cory douglas" <lectricgenius@yahoo.com> To: <TNSMITH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, June 23, 2005 11:22 AM Subject: [TNSMITH] Anderson Douglas > I am trying to find out any available information on Anderson Douglass who is on the 1820 census for Smith CO TN.
