Melba.... Would you please check and see if you can locate a land grant issued to James Upton. James Upton was listed on the 1820 census of Smith Co.....he died in 1826 and is buried in the Gwaltney Cemetery south of Hickman, Smith Co. TN. If you run across other Uptons in this time frame, would you please list them also?
