ELLA MAE KEMP Mrs. Ella Mae Kemp, age 77, of Nashville died during surgery Wednesday afternoon, December 23, 1992, at the Nashville Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home and burial was in the Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens. Elder Harold Dean Linville officiated at the 11:00 a.m. services. Born in Defeated Creek the daughter of the late Pete Turner Wilkerson, she was married December 22, 1930, to Benton (Buster) Kemp, who survives. She was a member of the Defeated Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Kemp was preceded in death on February 8, 1990 by a son, George Turner Kemp. Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Sue Decker, of Arlington, Texas, and Pam Baggett of Murfreesboro; a son, David Kemp of Hendersonville' a sister, Etta Dockery Cothern of Lebanon; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
