Melba - Thanks so much for your info on the POPE line. Those names do not seem to fit into my family. My Phillip POPE was b. 16 Oct 1762 NC m. Elizabeth Hale b.1762 NC on 22 Jan 1786. Phillip died in Smith Co. 13 May 1849. He was son of Jesse POPE and Elizabeth_____. He did have a son John POPE b. 1806/07...I have no more info on this John. It is possible he married young to Polly Palmer and became father to Phillip POPE b. 1822. I really appreciate your response. I noticed you have WILLIAMS connection in Smith Co. I need parents of Thomas H. WILLIAMS b. 1810 TN (probably Smith Co). He married Pitsy (Patsy) POPE dau of Silas Pope /Phillip Pope. Any info on him in your data? Thanks Jeanne
