Patti, What area is your BROOKS family from? My John F. Brooks was born between 1825 and 1831 somewhere in middle TN. Married 1848 Daviess Co KY. The Library in Ft Smith AR, also has a copy of the Smith County History Book in the Genealogy Room. Lavona, in OK researching the family of Isaiah WHITE and CASKEY from Smith and DeKalb Counties.
Lavona, I will have to keep this short for now as I have much left to prepare for this Hurricane. However, my Brooks started in VA and some lived in KY for a time and then settled in Jackson Co and later, Smith Co. Will discuss this more after storm. May be a week or more, depending on damage, etc. Best Regards, Patti lavona shoemaker <lavonab@webtv.net> wrote: Patti, What area is your BROOKS family from? My John F. Dear Patti, Wherever you are in the path of Rita I wish you safety. How horrible to watch all this devastation, worry, etc. May God bless you. When you can maybe we can talk about the Brooks line that my Duke line married into.
