    2. Hello...I have a question that I am hoping someone out there might be able to help me with...In searching for my great grandmother I have found that she probably died sometime between 1900 and 1905...she had a son from a previous marriage and he is lost to me between 1900 and 1910...my question for any of you is...what happened to a person when they died in those times...were the deaths recorded somewhere other than in a family bible...the only funeral homes I am aware of were Cheek and Cheek in New Middleton in the late 1800s later becoming Bass in 1916...and...Sandersons being in the Pleasant Hill or Shade area in the early 1900s until moving to Carthage...so I don't know if at those times, either in the Rome area, Elmwood area or Stonewall area (not sure which one they were in at that time) would they have used (funeral home) did they just buy a coffin from the local undertaker record it at home (if that at all) and dig a grave for them and put them to rest or is there somewhere I may find some information like this for this time period...as I am confused...that was the bad thing about census being taken every 10 years...the people whom were lost between those earlier times...any information you have for me will be greatly appreciated...Thank you. ************** Ideas to please picky eaters.
