I am a lurker on this list, but had to speak up here. While I understand Jack's frustration at what he perceived as a lack of response from a hired professional, his response was extremely out of line. Jack, you may be able to apologize and go on with your day, but you have permanently damaged a professional's reputation. There was obviously a miscommunication on both sides, but that does not excuse your over-reaction or the change the fact that your accusation is now forever archived on Rootsweb. I want to be clear that while I do know Melissa in passing from the Association of Professional Genealogists List , I am in no way invested in her business. I am simply, as a professional genealogist, appalled at the lack of respect that was shown to her.
