When looking at the 1840 census I found Alexander Cassetty on page 239 line 17 they spelled it Casado on the census. What part of Smith County was this in it reference pg0235 Was this a part of Macon County Later. Jeannie it looks like cassade on the CD image in tiff format which is better than the online images.... it was wasn't till 1880 that they state the area of the enumeration... however if one can find the location of a close by household it can narrow down the search area!
