I have been looking at this quite a bit. I find that Sarah, I THINK this is our Sarah, was b. 1834 and had a brother named John C Climer. Their father was Cane Climer, b. 1781 in MD. In 1850, he is listed with wife, Nancy, b. 1800 in SC, but I believe she is a second wife as records show this marriage to take place in 1850 in TN...I believe that there was a first marriage for Cane (listed as Anne in the 1850 Census-I have posted a correction). Sarah is listed as Evaline in the 1870 Smith Co., Census image. By 1880, she is Sarah E. Hope this helps and if anyone can add to the "Cane Climer" saga, I would love to hear.
