June, the best that "I" can tell, Nancy Gillihan was most likely a second wife to Cane Climer. The 1850 Census was taken in October; plenty of time for them to marry prior to it's taking. The records show that they married in 1850, so no way she could be natural mother to John C and Sarah E as they were 18 & 16.
