Dear Fay, Hello, Yes I do research work at the state archives as well as many other archives and libraries in Tennessee and Kentucky. Being a professional genealogist I "live" in these repositories. As researchers we are all searching for sources that will help us in our research and the Shelby County site is awesome to make the indexes available for free. I am just always very aware that no index is perfect and there is almost always missing information, so original records are a must to check out. Starting with these indexes is great, but we need to strive to end up looking at the original records as much as possible since so much can be lost in the translations.
