Kemp is summoned by death Mrs. Mary Elvira Kemp, aged 75 years, died at her home in Prosperity section of the county, a few miles south of Red Boiling Springs. about noon Monday of last week. Death was attributed directly to a broken hip sustained in a fall ten weeks ago. However, she had been a semi-invalid since she suffered a paralytic stroke seven years ago. She is survived by her husband, Silas W. Kemp, a country merchant: three daughters, Mrs. Otis Wilmore of McMinville: Mrs. Ben Wilburn of Gallatin, and Mrs. Pervis West, who made her home with her parents, seven grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren: and one brother, Monroe Patterson, of Detroit, Mich. The remains were laid to rest on Tuesday afternoon at four o'clock following her death, in the Jenkins Cemetery, near the home, after funeral services conducted by Elder Leslie Ramsey and the editor (Elder Calvin Gregory). She was a good woman and had been a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church since girlhood. She was the daughter of James and Jane Shoulders Patterson and was born in the Pleasant Shade section.
