Sherri, This is the info I have on the names I gave you...hope this helps your search...Sue Info I have on Jonas Meador: In 1751 Jonas and Frances were in Cumberland County, Virginia at the head of Deep and Muddy Creek, six miles north east of the county seat. At his death he owned 630 acres of land. Some of his children preceeded him into Cumberland County and two followed, Joel and Jonas, Jr. The will of Jonas is in Will Book #1, page 361 Circuit Court, Cumberland County, Virginia. His will was dated May 5, 1768 and was probated August 23, 1768. In his will he named his wife and only his sons, but in Frances' will she named all of the children. Her will was probated September 25, 1780, Will Book #2, 1769-92, pp. 966-7. She gave her side saddle to her granddaughter Ann Meador and a heifer to Rosanna Meador, daughter of Joel and Susannah Clark. Jason and Job moved to Anson County, North Carolina. Will of Joel W Meador, SR I give to my son Jesse Meador, 200 acres of land where he now lives; to my son John Meador, 200 acres; to my son Jonas Meador 150 acres where he now lives; to son Joel Meador 200 acres he now holds; to son Isham Meador 200 acres; to son Job Meador 228 acres he now holds; to son James Meador 150 acres with my plantation lying on the river; to son Joseph Meadow, 340 acres where I now live; his mother to have her part with him for her life. I give to my daughters Mary Herd, Frances Simmons, Susanna Martin, Anna Simmons, Rhoda Meador, Milla Meador...The land I have given to my sons are all divided by lines already made, so there is to be no alteration. I give my beloved wife Susannah all the rest of my estate to act and do with as she thinks fit, provided she pays my debts. Wife Susannah Meador, son Jesse Meador, son John Meador, my executors. (Will Book #1, 1786-1812) Joel preached at Mr. Herman, Bedford County, Virginia in 1760. -----Original Message----- From: Sheri Horton <hortonsheri@aol.com> To: tnsmith@rootsweb.com <tnsmith@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wed, Mar 17, 2010 11:01 pm Subject: Re: [TNSMITH] [TNSMITH Meador Family Can any one give me a lead for D A R proof that Jobe Meador mm Martha Patty Wood is Father of Joel Joseph Meador.
