Teresa, How much information are you wanting on any particular veteran?  My uncle, Webb Washington West, was born in Macon County and served in WW II.  He did not grow up there, because he and his younger brother and sister were kidnapped by their father and grandfather when they were little and did not see their mother again for years.  His mother was Molly (White) West, who taught school in Macon County for many years.  That story, itself, might be of interest as an article in the MCHS newsletter.  I can provide additional information, pictures, etc., if desired. I am planning to be in Macon County for the June meeting and hope to be there by that Friday to do some research at the library and courthouse.
