(Tennie) Winkler (29 Sep. 1864 - 21 Sep. 1887) [LDVT], daughter of Alfred M. and Elizabeth Bradley Winkler, 19 Oct. 1882 [SCTMR]. [NOTE: Bailey Peyton's Civil War pension papers consistently note Lansford's birth date as 19 Sep. 1860; Langford's death certificate, however, calls out 19 Sep. 1859 as his date of birth. Bailey's pension papers also record this son's first name phonetically as "Lawson", as do the records of his two marriages explicitly. The 1880 Smith Co., TN, US Census records him as "Lancon K.", living in his cousin Burrell F. Kemp's household. The 1910 Smith Co., TN, US Census records him as "Lansard K." Mary Knight notes: "His name is spelled differently in every census." His granddaughter Minnie Moore is certain his name was "Lansford" from his 23 years of living together with her and her parents in their home. To add a bit more confusion, his death certificate records his name as "Langford." The Alexander Funeral Home records give his name as "Langford Kenny Kemp with life dates of 19 Sep. 1859 - 23 June 1943.] Tennessee C. (Tennie) Winkler was sister to Burrell Franklin (Frank) Kemp's wife, Mary Ann H. Winkler. Tennie died of pneumonia when their only child, Maude, was eleven months old. Kenny's parents, Bailey and Juda, took Maude and kept her until Kenny remarried. Kenny married 2) Laura Udora Gregory (8 July 1860 -15 July 1920) [LDVT] [1870 USC] [1910 USC], daughter of Henry Milton and Mathilda Grissom Gregory, 7 Oct. 1889 [SCTMR]. He and Laura did not have any children of their own. They resided in the Mutton Hollow neighborhood of Gallatin, Sumner Co., TN. Upon Laura's demise, Kenny - "Pa" - moved in with his daughter and her family. Kenny was a farmer. Laura was born, raised, lived, married and died in Smith Co., TN. He was born in Smith Co., TN, and passed in Sumner Co., TN, being interred in the Bradley Burial Ground in Smith Co., TN. <> Kenny and Tennie had one child: Maude Elizabeth Kemp (15 Oct. 1886 - 5 Dec 1954) [1910 USC], born in Smith Co., TN, married Howard L.
