I am looking for anyone that might have photos of John Fite Blair, William Hatton Blair, and Margaret "Maggie" Blair (who married Charlie B. Duke and was the mother of Red Blair). These were the children of Andrew C. and Margaret Shoemake Blair. I have photos of their siblings but have been unable to find photos of these three. I have all of the others posted on Ancestry.com under the "DEAL, BLAIR, & SHOEMAKE FAMILY REUNION" family tree. I am not sure if the site currently has the tree available for searching as I have just posted the information in the last few weeks but here is the link to Andrew C. & Margaret Blair's information - http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/15596286/person/286782028 . Any help that you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Randy Rowe rowesof4@bellsouth.net

Folks, I acquired this fragment of an obituary from somewhere. Does anyone have the complete obituary, including attribution? Thanks, Gary Pace Lafayette, Tenn. Sept. 07 <---- have no idea where this came from or what it means Mary Ann Elvira Patterson Kemp Kemp, Mary Elvira Patterson 1869 - 1944 Mrs. Mary Elvira Kemp 75...Elder Calvin Gregory officiated. Burial was in the Jenkins Cemetery near the home. (Red Boiling Springs area)..husband..Silas W. Kemp a country merchant, three daughters..Mrs. Otis Wilmore of McMinville, Mrs. Ben Wilburn of Gallatin and Mrs. Fred West, who resided with her mother. One brother Monroe Patterson of Detroit. Mrs. Kemp was a native of the Pleasant Shade section, having been the daughter of James and Jane Shoulders Patterson.
1920 Davidson Co. census lists Josie D. Kemp as age 23, making her born about 1897. If you know where she is buried, the cemetery records may be online. Or her death certificate would have her birthdate. My grandfather's family was born in Rutherford Co., TN at Twelve Corners, however, I have just found his brother in the 1910 Census in Smith Co., TN. William Creed "Billy" Jennings who married Josephine "Jocie" Marler. They married in 1906 in Wilson Co., TN. He was b. 1865 and she in 1878 in TN. Does anyone have any info on either of these people? RE: The Massey folks are having such good luck, I thought I would post my Rodgers family to see if anyone is researching them. John H. Rodgers, b. 1790 Fauquier Co., VA (spelled Rogers then), d. 1870 Smith Co. wife Lucinda Smith, b. 1796 Fauquier, d. 1868 Smith Co. Children: 1. Noah S., 1805-1870, married Mary Ann Klope 2. Rebecca, 1817-1897, m. Nehemiah Nunn 3. Ranzil Hunton, 1821-1884 - my ancestor - married 4th Permelia Jane McMurry 4. John H., 1823-1852, m. Barthena Allen 5. Sarah, 1827-1857, m. James H. Watts 6. Frances P., 1832-1854, m. James B. Davis 7. Thomas Jefferson "Doc", 1836-1919, m. Prudence J. Smartt 8. Levi, 1838-1924, m. Nancy Phillips Frances, T.J. and Levi all remained in Smith Co. all their lives, but the others moved away. Sandra I am curious about the Rodgers as a collaterol line of my Brown's. My Arthur Brown was b. 1761 Pitt Co., NC (which had just been cut from Beaufort Co., NC) In many land records in Pitt and Beaufort NC the Rodgers are mentioned as witnesses, adjacent property, etc. By 1818 my Arthur Brown filled out a Rev War Pension request in Caldwell Co., KY ` (this was cut from Christian,Livingston and Logan). I believe he left NC bet 1810-1812. His daughter Anna Brown married John Rodgers and they lived and died in Caldwell Co., KY. By about 1823-1826, for some reason Arthur Brown left Caldwell and moved to Carroll Co., TN. There are Rodger's there also. In the vertical family files in the Gordon Brown library in McKenzie, Carroll Co., TN, I found a letter from Arthur Brown to his daughter Anna Brown Rodgers in the 1840's, shortly before he died. He is asking about his old friend Drury Rodgers. This Ro(d)ger's family seems to be large and to have possibly been in middle, and midwestern TN, along with documentation in Pitt and Beaufort Co. NC ~ which is not too far from Fauquier, VA, and into Caldwell Co., KY. This part of KY had land set aside for Rev War Vets from VA. I was doing Brown research at the Dallas Public Library the last two weeks, and saw where the Brown's were probably in VA prior to NC - mid 1700's) , and I'm guessing the Rodgers were , but can't quite remember. My Arthur Brown had service in NC, but I can find no record of him owning land in Kentucky, and I'm guessing he may have lived with the Ro(d)gers. As additional info. Arthur Brown's son Samuel Arthur Brown wrote a family history about 1900, he stated that Arthur Brown's parents and Grandparents OR his Grandparents and their parents were supposed to have come from England in the early settling of the colonies. Since there seems to be such a tangled connection with my Brown, I'm guessing there may be more than one intermarriage here. Does any of this work with your Rodger's?? Teri
Teri, I'm sorry, but I can't connect your Browns and Rodgers to mine. My Rogers/Rodgers were never in NC that I know of - they came directly from Fauquier Co., VA to Smith Co.
