The census enumerator likely misheard or misunderstood Babe Kemp 's wife's name as "Tiny" - it actually was "Tennessee" or "Tenny", her full name being Tennessee Ramsey Sircy Kemp. Gary Pace
Melba John Simpson Dycus b. ca 1846 was brother to Elba Dycus not his son. I have no marriage info for him however. There was another John Simpson Dycus b. ca 1866 who was son of Larkin Dycus & Nancy Donoho. Larkin was also brother of Elba and the first John Simpson Dycus. I have no marriage info for this John Simpson Dycus b. ca 1866 either. Elba had a son named John Lee "Savage" Dycus b. March 31, 1857 who married Eliza Jane Dycus daugher of Leroy Dycus also son of William Dycus & Winnie Minerva Carver which would make John & Eliza first cousins I think. This is what I have collected over the years from Rootsweb post by Jerry Dycus and also census records etc of these families. Charlie, The Thomas, Richard and Isaac. William are very much in our family given names. So is John, Louis/Lewis and Francis WE have hardy Hadley also in our lines Marshall was another common name I really believe our families are connected. Lott Gregory dob 1742 unknown where some think Turkey Creek NC I say VA In records for deeds, wills, surveys etc. you find Thomas and Ethel Red along with him mentioned Then Thomas and Ethel Red are no longer in the records for that county. Your Thomas age and the age of the Thomas in the records with Lott are abt the same Jeannie
