    1. Martha Elizabeth Jenkins Silcox?
    2. Mary Knight
    3. Rick, I don't believe your Martha could have been daughter of Henry L. Jenkins and Lucinda Gregory. I have pension papers on Henry he died in Sept 1863 and Lucinda died May 1864. The children and their birth dates are all named in these papers and there is no Martha Elizabeth. According to the online info you mentioned on George Silcox and Martha Jenkins she wasn't born until 1865. After Henry and Lucinda died the children were raised by both Samuel Jenkins and Joel Gregory grandparents. Henry and Lucinda's children were: 1. Mary A. b. Nov. 19, 1849 married Ben Coley 2. William Chesley "Bill Sam" b. Mar 5, 1855 3. Matilda Evaline b. Mar 9, 1859 mar. William Wade "Bill Nick" Jenkins 4. John William "John Sam" b. Apr 3, 1857 5. Henry L. Jenkins, Jr. b. Jul 10, 1861 6. Lucinda E. "Bettie" Jenkins b. Sept 9, 1863 Mary Knight Sue, Don't know if this helps much, but Samuel Jenkins is my gr gr gr grandfather, his wife was Sabrey Goad and he was a son of Roderick Jenkins and Nancy Pack. One of Samuel's sons was Henry L. Jenkins who married Lucinda Gregory, Henry and Lucinda had a daughter named Martha Elizabeth who married George Richard Silcox. George Richard and Martha E. Silcox are pictured on the Smith co. website and they are burried in the Heitt cemetery with their son (my grandfather) George Benton Silcox. The one you're speaking of is the son of Dock (not Dick) Smith and Molly Frances Barbee. Dock Smith is the son of Ely and Hazel Smith. I'm not aware of any connection of these Smiths to Smith County, although I haven't researched this family much. 3. Sheila, Is the Columbus Smith who married Rebecca Brazwell on 26 Aug. 1874 in Smith Co. a generation back of your Columbus "Dick" Benton Smith? In Dist 9 Smith 1880 has a Columbus Smith b abt 1852 in Tn and is age 27 and married by 1880... assuming this is the same who married Rebecca. 3. Dear Rick, Are you related to those Woodards in the Smith Co., area, many of whom were born in Jackson Co? I have a huge Woodard file and would like to talk to you. Question? Do I have this correct? I do not have all the children listed of Roderick Jenkins, however I have that two of his sons were James and Samuel. If my records are correct both of these sons (and brothers) married sisters. Reuben Goad and Mary Witcher had several children, among whom were daughters Sabra, who married Samuel Jenkins; and Susannah who married James Jenkins. My Jenkins file was developed in my search on Witcher family, etc who married into these Jenkins lines. Have Woodards who married into my Green line, hence that file. Have lots of Ricks but not sure where you fit in. 2. Thanks Gary. This helped. I have also gotten out my Smith Co History book, that I keep forgetting I have??? And looked up a good bit in it. I'm still puzzled though on this James "Jim" Jenkins and Samuel "Buck" Jenkins line. I still think that the children are crossed up?? Too many of same names, marrying people with the exact same names?? I'll look up what I'm talking about and get back with you. THANKS again. Sue

I also have a note that William JENKINS (dob 1782) and wife, Sarah (dob 1782) were in TN as early as 1810 and had several children; including: Joanah, William B. and Joseph. This is a very confusing JENKINS/JINKINS gathering of ancestors. I for sure see the "E" and "I" transcription of the JENKINS/JINKINS name often. Please can you help me.
