    1. [TNSMITH] Smith County farm locations Little Peyton Creek area 1800s
    2. I have been studying the land deeds centered on the West fork of Peyton Creek area [along the Little Creek Road] northwest of Pleasant Shade--to the Peyton Creek area to the east and west to Dixon Creek and south to the junction of Peyton Creek and the West fork of Peyton's Creek [also known as Little Peyton Creek]. My goal is to find the exact location today of William Arnett's farm [1832-1853]. I've narrowed it down to about one-half mile area on Little Peyton Creek after studying about 100 deeds in that area. Key farms near him are the Porters, Andersans adjacent, B.P Lipscomb and Ballows just to the southeast. I've collected information on about 50 of his neighbors and fellow church members--Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Just keep me in mind if you find any detailed information on exact farm locations in that region other than what we have on the Smith County TN GEN web site. Best, Rob Arnett

The Smith Reunion Book states that the first Hiett record was that of John Hiett, Sr., born 1795. His wife name was Cynthia, born in Tenn. John was from Virginia. John and Cynthia were parents of son Joseph Hiett b 1824 (Joseph md Sarah Sloan;) Joseph & Sarah also had a son they named Joseph Pickett Hiett b in Macon Co. 30 Nov 1852 and married Bettie Beasley; Joseph & Bettie had 15 children. There are still many Hiett family in Smith Co. Hopefully some of them will see this email search. Does this help? 3. but again, in 1930 she says 1872, I guess she got younger as she got older...LOL Rick So many records are just there to confuse us more I think. :-) I have numerous people with birth dates that don't match what the census says. :-) I've had a birth date for my husband's gr-grandfather of Dec. 31, 1855. 1900 census gives his birth as Dec 1856 I just received his death certificate which gives his birth as April (no day) 1858. Age 75 years 5 mos with death date of Sept. 21, 1933. The informant was his son so you would think he would know his fathers birth date. Concidering his death date and given age on his death certificate April 1858 would be correct. However that date doesn't match his age in any given census or the date I had for him. :-) So now I need to find my source for the birth date I have for him and see which one I want to believe! 1. Re: [TNSMITH] Martha Elizabeth Jenkins Silcox?
    2. It is very possible as I have been told of a Boston connection. My mothers double cousin told me he knew of a Draper Jenkins who was Martha Elizabeth's nephew which I am assuming would be her brothers son, do you know if any of them had a son named Draper? Also in the 1900 Smith co census it lists George R. Silcox age 38 with wife Martha (Jenkins) as age 43 which would put her birth year as 1857, also the names of many of their children are commonly used in the Samuel Jenkins line, such as George, Nancy, Reuban Andrew, Bettie ect...
