    3. Yes, I agree Sue, the children had to have all been Martha Hesson's. Christian had to have died between June 1, 1890 - Nov. 7, 1893. Mary K. 3. Gary, I don't think his father was George, Jr. he would have only been about 15 or 16 when Thomas was born 1839?-1840. The descendant of Thomas that contacted me several years ago now, said he traced George to his death in Hardin Co. IL and that George appeared to only have one son in the records and it wasn't Thomas. However he didn't give me any information on who George married or who his son was. But George and his son were both dead by Aug 1889 according to the court case concerning George Sr.'s heirs. He told me Thomas married Susan Elizabeth Kelly Oct, 4, 1857 in Smith Co. TN? I haven't found that marriage online for Smith Co. Susan's parents were John W. Kelly & Mary Ann Smith (all I have is their names). Thomas died in Union Co. IL February 03, 1885 Had a daughter Mary Ann b. ca 1858 Smith Co. TN and a daughter Ruth b. 1859 Smith Co. TN 1850 Smith co. TN Boston George, 56 b. NC Boston Matilda 22 b. rest b. Indiana. ftp://ftp.us-census.org/pub/usgenweb/census/in/johnson/1860/pg00547.txt I don't have them in 1870 census. 1880 (Is this Willis & Elizabeth Boston?) RUSSELL Son S Male W 16 IN Works On Farm TN PA -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Source Information: Census Place Flat Creek, Barry, Missouri Family History Library Film 1254672 NA Film Number T9-0672 Page Number 299B Then I think this is Elizabeth in 1880 Barry Co. MO but I'm not positive. Sometime aft 1880 Willis Russell married his brother David's widow Sarah Ann Porter Russell. David Russell died Newton Co. Missouri 1873. If Thomas was Andrew's son, David C. Boston wouldn't have been his uncle as stated in Thomas civil war pension (according to a descendant). Ruth would be my best guess as Thomas mother as the other girls all seem to young? But I don't think we will find proof anyway, can only make a guess! Mary Knight ......if David C. Boston is an Uncle, then Thomas would have to be a son of a brother of David. Since Christian wasn't born till 1861, he's out! That leaves George Boston, Jr. b. 1824 (only other brother or step-brother)! I have no spouse or children listed for him. The other possibility is that Thomas was an illegitamate son of one of David's sisters (or step-sisters). The oldest step-sister of David would be Elizabeth, b. abt 1827. Think 13 is a bit young! The above makes me lean toward George Boston's brother, Andrew Boston b. 1807. Have no further info on him except he died aft 1850 possibly in Ky???? 2. Here's my sopurce of the info you are referring to...... Date: 5/7/2005 From: parkhurs@pacbell.net To: GJenk32888@aol.com Gary - Not too long ago I was in email contact with a Ray Boston from your part of the world. He (Jacob Boston) maybe should have been a Jenkins as a Issac Jenkins and a female Boston had a son before they were married and the son perhaps raised by her parents became a Boston. Issac was born about 1855. Ray Boston has since died and is buried in Nashville. This Jacob Boston's birthday was 03/03/1874. His mother was probably Matilda Boston, but she didn't marry Jacob's father Isaac Samuel 'Bud' Jenkins (son of Coleman & Nancy Stewart Jenkins) until 06/18/1876. Gary J

    3. Adopted son of George W & Matilda Parkhurst Boston he was a product of an encounter of passion between Matilda, 4th child of George & Matilda (1) and Issac (Bud) Jenkins who 2 years later did marry but chose not to reclaim Jake.George and Matilda (1) adopted him and raised him.He m the widow of his adopted brother, Christian (3)Boston Thank you for confirming that. Thats what I had heard also. I did think it was strange that Matilda and Bud Jenkins didn't reclaim him after they married. But the fact that George and Matilda adopted him would explain why he remained a Boston rather than a Jenkins. I also suspected Matilda as Jacob's mother because in 1910 Macon Co. census says she gave birth to 9 children with 9 living in 1910 and I only have 8 children listed for Bud Jenkins and Matilda Boston. So one mystery is solved. Now do you know who Thomas Boston b. ca 1840's mother was? A descendant of Thomas told me he suspected Ruth Boston as his mother because Thomas named a daughter Ruth but he had no proof of that. He said he knew Thomas was not George's son because Thomas's pension file has an affidavit from David C. Boston saying he is Thomas Uncle. I haven't seen the file was just told that by a descendant of Thomas Boston's. Mary K.
