Dear Mary K. and all; What a tangled web we have on all this. I always knew the Gregory family was one of the biggest in middle Tennessee, but I had no idea it was going to be such a big puzzle. Great having all to pitch in with their info so we can get all pieces put together as they should be. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks. Thank you Sue....That paragraph was written wrong. Harvey A. b 1857 md Emmie Green and Harvey was s/o Anderson of 1819. I have it correct in my files. Blame it on the extreme heat of Arizona!(Gary...maybe I do have fat fingers too!). While we are on the subject...a Williams family member had told me the dates on the tombstone of Harvey Anderson Williams were in error E. & O. Williams of Pleasant Shade state the death date of H. A. W. shown on the tombstone as 25 April 1924 is incorrect. They state the correct death date to be 27 July 1924. And further that the tombstone date shown as 29 July 1867 (should this be 1857?) is in error...correct date to be 27 July 1866 (again should this be 1856?) Can anyone else on Williams line confirm the correct dates and if indeed the tombstone is in error? Re skipping a generation...No. With the Williams I have Tobias 1746 to James Claridy 1795 to Anderson 1819 to Harvey A. 1857 to son Hugh 1898 (and dau Ocia 1897). I would like to have some confirmations re information on Emma (Emmie) Vessie Green dates. If Harvey A. born 1857 and Emmie b 1876 there is a 19 birth year span between these two. Yet the marriage date was 23 Dec 1895 and first child Hugh born 1898, so this is an acceptable date. When I follow the generation birth line on Emmie's Green line that is ok too. Any comments???? My Aunt Mattie did state she was older (meaning?) Emmie would have married at age 19 to Harvey A. who would have been 38. Any history/stories/lore re this? Thanks again Sue...I always want to be corrected when/if one finds any errors. That is what this website is about. Paul, I think you will find the will for Moses Driver b. Jan 8, 1872 in the 1815 will book A ,page 80 Lincoln Co, TN. The James O. Driver b.Oct 11 1838 was killed May 15, 1863. He served in the 1st. Regiment, Turney 's Confederate Infantry. James F. Driver was on the 1820 Lincoln Co, TN census at Fayetteville. My Driver's of Smith Co, TN have Safronoia and Worth as first names as do these Driver's. Maybe they connect some way.
