Hello everyone, I just went to the archives and performed a search for the SEALS family from Smith County. Originally James Seal married Rebecca Foley in 1815, but they appear in 1830 in Smith County. I am looking for any information on the following individuals. James B. SEAL (1830) James F. (Fountain) SEAL (1850,1860, 1880 I think) Any other SEALS. It is Rebecca that I am a descendent of, but I cannot find anything really about James. I am hoping someone might know something since the archives is great for books, but its hard to beat the knowledge of the people. Thank, Brian Foley [email protected] _________________________________________________________________ Use video conversation to talk face-to-face with Windows Live Messenger. http://www.windowslive.com/messenger/connect_your_way.html?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_Refresh_messenger_video_072008

I have been looking at this quite a bit. I find that Sarah, I THINK this is our Sarah, was b. 1834 and had a brother named John C Climer. Their father was Cane Climer, b. 1781 in MD. In 1850, he is listed with wife, Nancy, b. 1800 in SC, but I believe she is a second wife as records show this marriage to take place in 1850 in TN...I believe that there was a first marriage for Cane (listed as Anne in the 1850 Census-I have posted a correction). Sarah is listed as Evaline in the 1870 Smith Co., Census image. By 1880, she is Sarah E. Hope this helps and if anyone can add to the "Cane Climer" saga, I would love to hear. Thanks, Sue **************Gas prices getting you down? Search AOL Autos for fuel-efficient used cars. (http://autos.aol.com/used?ncid=aolaut00050000000007)

I want to thank everyone for their input. I will write and let you know what I found and where we stayed. It is our first trip to Tennesse and can't wait to get there. We may stay a couple of days just for the fun of it. Wish I could thank you all in person. Well don't know what happened there but that should read: There is also the Corner Cafe at 5234 Highway 31 E at Westmoreland. Just a little drive out from Lafayette that we found had very good food. Its been a few years since I've been down there but we usually stay at the Comfort Inn in Gordonsville, just off interstate 40. http://www.comfortinn.com/ires/en-US/html/HotelInfo?hotel=TN003 You can drive to Lafayette, (Macon Co.) from Carthage if you dont mind the drive. However, we have also stayed at the Hearthstone Inn in Lafayette. You can visit the Library and courthouse in Lafayette. http://www.merchantcircle.com/business/The.Hearthstone.Inn.615-666-7114 Red Boiling Springs also have some bed and breakfast in the old hotels there. They have a library also but you will not find as much there as in Lafayette. http://www.redboilingspringstn.com/hotels-motels.htm I would also recommend the caf downtown Carthage near the courthouse and library. (If its still there?). The Timberloft in Gordonsville near the Comfort Inn, is a really good place to eat. There is also the Corner Cafe at 5234 Highway 31 E Restoral. Just a little drive out from Lafayette that we found had very good food. The locals may know of other places but as a visitor myself several times these are the places we have chosen and were happy with.
