Thanks for posting this list. These names provided another clue to unlocking my DAVIS mystery. John Davis and family moved from Smith Co., TN after the 1850 census to Pike Co., AR. If anyone else out there has family migrating to this location about the same time, please contact me. Charlie: I wonder if you can help me. I hired Melissa Barker to perform genealogy research for me. I sent her a retainer on May 27th. I have asked for progress reports with no satisfaction. I told her we are leaving Sept. 1st for MO, KY, TN & NC and wanted to get as much done as possible before we leave. The other day I finally gave up and told her that if she hadn't performed then she should return the retainer otherwise to give me a progress report. This is the third time I have asked for a progress report with no response. Could you light a fire under her for me? Thanks for any help you can provide. Jack Willoughby Roseville, CA
Thanks Melba, that was sweet...wish I had something on this family?? Don't. If I run across anything...I'll forward it to the site...Sue Gregory In a message dated 8/13/2008 7:22:26 P.M. I was able to enlarge the images by using "Snag-It." Essentially, Snag-It "captures" the image to a reader, which enables the user to edit the image in a variety of ways, including size. The problem with this solution is that the more one enlarges the image, the less legible the words in the picture become. I assume this is a scanned image? What format is the original file in (what is the 3-letter extension at the end of the file--jpg, bmp, doc, etc.)? I have other programs that may be able to manipulate the image in other, better ways, depending on the format. I would need the original digital file, however.
