    3. Have you contacted Gary (G.J.) Pace about this? He has been working on a "Kemp Family History" for some years, and the following is a brief excerpt that mentions John Wilson and "Dilley/Della/Delilah": Mary (Polly) (~1810/1822? - ?) [1860 USC/JTN] [1880 USC/NAR] married T. S. (John) Wilson (? - ~1849) per “Cal’s Column” of 17 May 1951. The Smith Co., TN marriage records note Wilson, Jno - Kempe, Della - Oct 11, 1838; Della is likely Mary. [NOTE: The 1860 Jackson Co., TN, shows Dilley, age 35, as the head of the household.] The children of Dilley/Della/Delilah and John Wilson were: My family is also connected to the Kemps of Smith County. Gary very kindly sent me a copy of the entire history he had compiled. Since it's his work, however, I'd rather have you contact him for more. If you'd like Gary's email address, please contact me offline at [email protected] Good luck with your search. I am trying to locate information about his parents, John Wilson and Delilah Kemp. I believe I found where they were married in Smith County on October 11, 1838 but the spelling of her name was Della. Does anyone have any information on John Wilson or Delilah Kemp? I have not been able to locate any info on either of them. I would really like to know more about each one of them. Jesse is buried close to Red Boiling Springs (not sure what county since the road he is buried on changes several times - it is either Jackson, Macon, or Clay). Based on the census, John Wilson may have died prior to 1850 since Delilah is listed as head of household. Please help as I am stumped and have not been able to go back any further. 1. [TNSMITH] Smith County Dunn's
    2. dunna
    3. Hello, I am new to this list. I signed up for the Smith County, TN list to see if I could learn more about my ancestors and the area where they supposedly came from. My Dunn's are my brick wall. James Dunn, who was born in 1826 in Tennesee, and his wife Mary Mitchell married in Smith County, TN in 1844. I have the name of the preacher who married them, but there is no known marriage bond or certificate. James along with his wife Mary, her family, and a Larkin Dunn move together to Kentucky in the late 1840's. James died in 1862 in Kentucky. Larkin was born in 1835 in Tennesee and died 1914 in Kentucky. On Larkin's death certificate it lists his father as a possible "L Dunn," but no one knows who that is. It is believed that James and Larkin are either brothers or cousins. I have research all the leads I can think of in the state of Kentucky that could tell me anything and I will have to actual go to Smith County or the state library to do research, which means a one or two day trip. All anyone in the family remembers is that the Dunns came from Tennessee and supposedly back to the motherland. I was wondering if any of these Dunn's sounded familiar with the early Smith families. I do know there is at least one Dunn family that is in Smith County by 1840's. Amy Dunn --- avast! Antivirus: Outbound message clean. 1. [TNSMITH] George L. and Barsheba Lynch, 1860, Smith Co, TN
    2. I have several court documents which concern a Land Warrant # 71632 owned by Barsheba Lynch in 1856. The documents show: Barsheba is the widow of George L. Lynch and she died in Smith Co, TN in 1856. Samual Allison was the Administrator of the Estate. George is on 1840 census but not the 1850, so he probably died 1840-50. Her heirs and disrtibutes at law are: Arving William Milly George Garry John James The documents also show that all are residents of Smith Co, TN in 1860 except Arving who was not a resident of the state. The questions I have are: 1. Arving, Milly and James are not shown on 1850 or 60 census that I can find? 2. Barsheba is not on the 1850 census? 3. Does Barsheba and Milly have other names shown on census? 4. Is the George above, the George Washington Lynch born 1824, married Mary Boze? 5. Is John above, the John born 1827, married Sarah Jane Harris? 6. Is the Garry above, the Garry born 1826, married Parthenia Brown? 7. Is the William above, the William born 1822, married Permelia Perkins? 8. Is Milly above, the Mary born 1820, married William McKinney? Anyone have any answers? 2. Leslie, I had a fairly large photo of my grandfather that I took to FedEx/Kinko's and they were able to scan onto a disk for me. Then I was able to do whatever I wanted with that. Just a thought. 2. Karen, do you have copies of Florence Sullivan's (Sr. & Jr.) wills? Someone posted them sometime ago. Let me know if you want a copy. Thanks for your help. Marcia -------------- Original message from <[email protected]>: -------------- > Marcia, It is probably the same book. There is a yearly reunion in Wilson Co that my mother usually goes to. I have been once. They pass a cane to the oldest living Sullivan at this reunion. The cane belonged to Ahaziel.
