    3. I was about to fill out and mail mine also, then I realized it said living in the house on APRIL 1st! Now how can I fill it out and return the very day I get it, when it is only March 15th. I could be dead, in a nursing home or jail by the 1st and then would be counted twice. As usual the gov't sends mixed messages - I am just letting it sit until the 1st. -----Original Message----- From: tnsmith-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:tnsmith-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of GJenk32888@aol.com Sent: Monday, March 15, 2010 11:23 PM To: TNSMITH-L@rootsweb.com Cc: TNMACON-L@rootsweb.com; JACKSON-CLAY-OVERTON-CO-TN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [TNSMITH] Good Suggestion! I was born and raised in Davidson County and my paternal ancestors were from Smith County. I use to go to the TSLA when home, but family is gone now. I live in Missouri and have Parkinson's, therefore, no more trips to Tennessee. I have hesitated to request anything from anyone; but the bottom line is I need help....as you go through the index of anything you have for Smith, Macon, or White County, may I impose on you to look for HUDSON. The parents of my ggg grandfather John William HUDSON elude me, and has for forty years. He was born ca. 1796 Campbell County Virginia,? married Nancy Ann Davis ca 1820 in Roane County ?, had seven children, Mary Ann, William Carroll, Elijah Berry, Thomas Allen (my lineage), Martha E., Ennis H., and Don Daniel. John HUDSON died 1849 in White County. I can prove none of this except the Thomas Allen HUDSON lineage from the family Bible. Thanking you in advance. 1. [TNSMITH] George Slate
    2. B & B West
    3. Jeannie, Cordell was Dudley Cordell Slate...he was married 3 times. 1) Eunice M Craighead on 26 Feb 1918 in Smith Co. They had as son, Ivory Glendle Slate, b. 26 Aug 1919, RBS, Macon Co., TN and d. 14 Oct 2001 in Madison, Davidson Co., TN. I'm not a Slate researcher but the name jogged a memory. My father, who was also from Smith Co. TN, used to talk of a one legged barber named George Slate who lived in Goodlettsville, Davidson Co. TN in the 1930's. Goodlettsville is just down the road from Madison, Davidson Co. TN. George Slate was married into the Henry Hardcastle family. Just a thought. . .he may be a member of the Cordell Slate family judging from the proximity of Madison to Goodlettsville. Bobby L. West

(forgive the repeats on other lists!!) I just received my Census 2010 form in the mail today.   Encourage all your family members and friends to make a copy before returning it  and pass it on to your/their family historian.  Don't make future  generations have to wait to look for census information! Still diggin.....
