I am a descendant of N.W. Dandridge, Jesse Lynn, Lewis Herring, Elijah Griffin, Stephen Jones, and Andrew Wherry who settled or lived in Shelby County prior to and after 1850. Most lived near Arlington and Brunswick around today's Lakeland. Even some descendants are there today.
