I am looking for any information and relatives of my g-g-g grandfather JOHN S. DENNIS. John was born abt 1805, I think in Maryland. He was married but I do not know his wife's name. John had four living children: 1.ADOLPHUS GUSTAVUS DENNIS b. 1829 in Maryland d. in Memphis,Tenn 10/20/1888 ( He married ELIZABETH Eelanor MINTER in Hardeman County , Tenn. 4/20/1849) ( my g-g-grandparents.) 2.CAROLINE JULIA DENNIS b. Sept. 15, 1831 in Baltimore, Maryland ( She married REV. JOHN B. CANADA and lived in Collierville, Tenn.) 3. A. FRANKLIN DENNIS b. ? in Tenn. 4. LAURA DENNIS b. ? TENN ( She married the brother to JB Canada - WILKES CANADA) John S. Dennis lived in GERMANTOWN. TENN IN 1850 and in 1860 FAYETTE COUNTY. He was a merchant and owned stores at one time in SNOWHILL MARYLAND, BALTIMORE and MEMPHIS, TENN. I do not know if the land had come from him but my g-grandmother had owned the farm which is now FOREST HILL CEMETERY in Memphis , Tenn. Can any one tell me if there are more relatives and the parents or wife of my JOHN S. DENNIS.? Any thing would be greatly appreciated.
