    1. E.L.Bruce Company
    2. According to the book "Memphis Memoirs" by Paul R. Coppock the E.L. Bruce Company opened in 1921. It occupied 43 acres on Thomas. At the time it was outside the city limits. In 1958 they bought the Welsh plant which made wall paneling. It was located at 1218 Hollywood. It stated that by 1968 Bruce had been hit hard because the FHA guaranteed only homes with wall to wall carpeting. The Bruce plant on Thomas closed in 1965. In 1968, Cook & Company, bought out Bruce. The headquarters were moved to the CTH Building in the Ridgeway Development at I-240 and Poplar. In 1977 the hardwood flooring mills were sold to Triangle Pacific Corporation in Dallas. So as to the question of where the records might be, take your pick. It would be my guess there are no personnel records left. Just my opinion.
