In a book I have from the library it states tha William M. King was one of the early settlers of Arlington, Tn. "Pioneers from the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, and Virginia settled in northeast Shelby County in the 1830s. The earliest settlers in the area were Jacob Kirkendal and William M. King." Taken from "Past Times Stories of Early Memphis", by Perre Magness. page 135. Thought your E.W.M. King might have dropped the E. Just a thought. Also, to the rest of the list, someone listed Kukendoll as a name they were researching. Could this other man be one of yours? Not the same spelling, but it sounds the same.
